Little Brother

My little brother who is not so little anymore just turned 14 a few days ago! I can't believe what a young man he is becoming. I am so proud of him and glad he is my brother. I remember him being a mean little kid who would chase us girls around and hit us with bats, toys, or whatever else he could find. Poor kid did grow up with 5 moms though I guess. He is such a good kid now and is a great example to me. Love ya Clay and hope you had a great birthday!

We Love Summer

So again...it's been awhile. SORRY. Anyway Jake and I have been enjoying our summer. We've been busy. Jake's been working a ton and lately I've just been at home catching up on things. I still have a lot to do, I just need to get motivated to do it. I've kept myself busy running as well. It's my last summer of it...so I'm really trying to do a good job with it so I can have a successful last year! Earlier this summer, I took a couple summer classes so I wouldn't have to cram so many credits into these next couple of semesters. I'm so glad I have them out of the way. I failed to update everybody about outdoor nationals...it went ok. Definitely not exactly as I would have liked. I got 7th I believe. Jake and his mom and dad were able to come out and watch. It was so nice to have them out there to see what I do. Afterwards we spent a few days there (Texas). We spent some time at the lake water skiing and fishing. It was so fun! It was the first time I had ever water skied...therefore being the reason I only got up a couple of times for a few very short seconds! :) We've also been lucky enough to find some time to go camping/fishing this summer. We love to both and wish we had just a little more time to do it more often!

I LOVE DAFFODILS

My mom recently gave me some daffodils! I absolutely love these flowers. One day they look like nothing...and the next day they are beaming and beautiful! Thanks Mom! Everytime I see them it makes me so happy! :)

Another Trip to Nationals!

Last week was one long week. We left to Houston, TX on Monday, March 9th and didn't get back until the next Sunday afternoon...and did I mention we drove (16 hours on a bus each way). It wasn't too bad...I just missed home and felt bad for leaving Jake for so long. The running went ok. I was the last person on the list to get in the mile. There was a total of 14 and I was the 14th! I was pretty excited that I had made it...it was my first indoor nationals I had made it to. I knew it would be tough for me to get into finals so I had to run really hard. In prelims I ended up running 4:56.13!!! That is like a 5 second PR for me and it put me the 5th fastest in finals. Finals didn't go so great. I felt like crap and ended up getting 9th place...one place away from making All-American. I'm still so mad about it...but thats just life and I can't change it now. I am not satisfied, but am happy to have even made it to nationals! Now it's onto outdoors! I'm excited to race the steeplechase again!

These are just a few pictures of downtown Houston! It is a crazy place with crazy people and tons of tall tall buildings! I enjoy getting to see new places! The other two pictures are of the elevators in our hotel. It went up 30 floors and of course I made a few trips up to the top and back down. Every time it made my tummy tickle because it went so fast. It reminded me of the Tower of Doom...but of course not quite as scary!!! haha :)

I was going to be in Seattle for a track meet on Valentine's Day...so I decided to do a little something for Jake before I left. He had been wanting some chocolate lust so bad...so this it what I threw together! Pretty sure he liked it because it was almost all gone when I got home!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

I had a birtday...well lets just say almost 2 months ago. I turned 21! I had a great birthday...other than the fact I had to go to school. My mom made me this cake...it was so pretty and tasted so good! Jake gave me a new camera too!!! I absolutely love it! I would say I'm a pretty spoiled girl!

Ice Skating

Something we've really enjoyed lately is going ice skating! Jake's gone a lot lately and I just go watch! He's pretty good! We bought Jake some skates and a stick a while back and it's been worth it because he's used them plenty! Usually I just watch, but the other day I decided I'd rent some from Parks and Rec. It was the first time I had skated in a long...long time...and the first time ever on hockey skates. Kinda funny! I'll leave it at that! Anyways, we have fun together and that's all that matters!

One Year Down...

Jake and I have been married for a year now! We had our anniversary on December 27th so yes I am a little late on posting...but what's new...

Anyway...this past year has been a great one! I am so greatful to have Jake in my life! He's one of a kind and perfect for me. I don't know what I'd do without him. He's a great example to me and keeps me in line. I am so happy knowing I get to spend the rest of my life and eternity with him! I only look forward to another year and many more!!! :)

So the other day I got to watch little Joselyn (Kevin and Kristin's daughter)! She not so little anymore...she's getting so big and is really getting a personality of her own. She is so funny! We had so much fun together...so thanks for letting me watch her guys!
